Pizza Today VS PMQ: A Circulation Analysis June 2006 BPA Report
You may have received a widely distributed, official looking report from our competition, Pizza Today which is entitled: PizzaToday VS PMQ, A Circulation Analysis. If you have read this report you would have remembered that it was very negative towards PMQ. As a result of the fallout from this report we have found it necessary to defend ourselves from some very misleading and negative statements. If you have had your faith in PMQ altered in any way as a result of reading this report, please take the time to read this rebuttal.
The good news is that our industry has two competitive magazines which keep your ad rates affordable. The bad news is that it may take an hour or so per year to indulge our respective magazines with a little scrutiny. So please read and please scrutinize...
You will get a much better and unbiased understanding of this analysis if you print out a copy of our respective BPA reports by using the print links which have been provided below. Please refer to the actual BPA copies and not rely solely on the selected pieces and reconfigured columns which are referred to in the Pizza Today report as they differ in some subtle but important ways. Now you can compare the numbers and columns yourself without danger of publisher bias.

PMQ/Pizza Today: Points of Agreement
Both PMQ Pizza Magazine and Pizza Today Magazine are both members in good standing with BPA. We follow all BPA procedures and are a proud member in good standing.
As Pizza Today may have brought to your attention, PMQ is almost 10 years old. 2007 will be our 10th Anniversary. Thanks for the plug.
PMQ/Pizza Today: Disputed Points of Truth
In the report, Pizza Today gives the false impression that PMQ was audited recently for the first time and that you are now able to see this “fresh off the press” information. FALSE… IN FACT: PMQ received their first physical audit in February 2005, and many circulation reports have been generated since then. Pizza Today should know better. BPA online records indicate that Pizza Today has downloaded PMQ circulation reports nearly 40 times since they began viewing our circulation numbers in January 2005 (publishers own data).
We are proud of our numbers as you will see in the next BPA circulation report.
One last thing:
May I suggest there is a more obvious reason why you’ve received the negative report about our magazine: And it has do with what PMQ has been doing right: keeping your advertising rates affordable for in the pizza industry. Thanks for listening.
